George Falconer was a rancher, living in Medicine Hat, Alberta when the war started. He enlisted and likely served for over a year in France and Belgium before being killed at Vimy Ridge. In all likelihood he was killed by a high-explosive shell, and his body was never recovered. The men that fought in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces during World War 1 and that have no know grave have their name inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. His widow, Tessie, subsequently remarried to a Calgary man named McLellan.
