Research Notes
Final QA confirms the distinction between enlistment and reporting dates: the Last Pay Certificate explicitly gives 'date of enlistment' as 15 Jul 1918 and 'Rep.' as 22 Aug 1918, consistent with the recruit declaration and medical/casualty records. The operative discharge/SOS date is 1 Feb 1919, supported by the casualty form and Last Pay Certificate; the French demobilization receipt dated 4 Feb 1919 is later administrative processing. No hospital admission, overseas movement, POW event, prior military service, promotion, disciplinary event, or explicit medal award is recorded in the surviving file.
