Research Notes

Short Canadian-only conscript record. The Medical History Sheet records examination and joining at Montreal on 9 August 1918, and the casualty form says service reckons from the same date. The Particulars of Recruit declaration was signed on 14 August 1918 and is retained as a separate administrative event. Category E is explicit on the recruit and medical forms, but the discharge proceedings explicitly give demobilization; therefore dischargeType remains Normal/End of Service rather than Medical.
