Research Notes
The apparent date conflict represents separate stages. 16 Jul 1918 is supported by the recruit declaration/index as the earlier Military Service Act attestation/declaration date. The Medical History Sheet states joined 11 Sep 1918, and the Last Pay Certificate records report 11 Sep followed by furlough from 12 Sep. Accordingly 11 Sep 1918 is used as p_enlistmentDate/service start, with 16 Jul retained in chronology. Farmer's Leave was the immediate release reason; R.O.1328 supplied the broader demobilization authority.
