Research Notes

This is a short, Canada-only Military Service Act file. The Medical History Sheet explicitly records a medical examination at Montreal on 10 June 1917 and, separately at the bottom of the same form, records that Eugene Leboeuf joined on 10 June 1918. The 1917 examination date is therefore preserved as a pre-service/call-up medical event rather than corrected to 1918. The index card, casualty form and Short Form Proceedings on Discharge independently support 10 July 1918 as the effective S.O.S./discharge date. Later dates—17 August 1918 (D.O. No.228), 11 December 1918 (P.C.3051) and 22 April 1919 (confirmation)—are administrative authority/confirmation dates. Wife's given name is Laurencia.
