Research Notes
Birthplace conflict: recruit and discharge-summary documents give Vankleek Hill, Ontario, while the leaving-service medical examination on p.35 gives Montreal, P.Q. Vankleek Hill is proposed because it appears on earlier core identity records; retain conflict for targeted pass. The service card p.5 labels theatre 'Eng.' and date of service 15-8-18. No document reviewed supports service in France despite the discharge certificate's broad printed/handwritten wording; degree of service therefore GB.
