George Lefebvre was born on 25 August 1884 at Huntingdon, Quebec. A single Roman Catholic clerk living in Montreal, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and entered service on 7 January 1918 with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. After an earlier brief absence without leave in January, he became illegally absent on 2 February 1918 and was declared a deserter by a Court of Inquiry and struck off strength.
