PRIVATE L.F. ALLINGHAM IS REPORTED WOUNDED

Was a Member of No. 2 Canadian Field Ambulance

(From Thursday's Daily)

Mrs. J. Allingham received a telegram from the Adjutant General, Ottawa, last evening, that her son, No. 33221 , Private L.F. Allingham, No. 2 Canadian Field Ambulance is officially reported wounded in the action on June 22, and that further particulars would be forwarded when received. Private Leonard Allingham is well known in Sarnia, having been born and raised here, and his many friends will anxiously await further particulars as to the extent of his injuries and sincerely condole with his parents who as might be expected, are greatly distressed over the news. Leonard was in the employ of the grease department of the Imperial Oil Company, where he was a general favourite with his employers. He enlisted with the 14th Field Ambulance here for overseas duty in August last, leaving Sarnia on August 19th for training in eastern camps before embarking for the front last October. In his last letter home he stated that he was doing his last duty with the field ambulance and expected to be transferred to one of the stationary or base hospitals in England for duty.
